North Carolina's Crystal Coast Wines & Dines Visitors During 6th Annual Beaufort Wine and Food Festival

EMERALD ISLE • ATLANTIC BEACH • MOREHEAD CITY • BEAUFORT • CAPE LOOKOUT N.C. – The sixth annual Beaufort Wine and Food Festival from April 21 to 25 brings “spirit” to wine enthusiasts and foodies on the Crystal Coast – North Carolina’s Southern Outer Banks. Included in the weekend are a Grand Tasting Village, a Fashion Show Luncheon, Sommelier Seminars and a Tattinger Champagne Celebration Brunch, as well as cooking classes, fine art auctions, and wine pairing dinners. The festival showcases the talents of the country’s most celebrated chefs, culinary professionals and winemakers.

The Beaufort Wine and Food Festival is part of the “Crystal Coast is Cookin’” promotion encompassing “fresh from the docks” fare through restaurant special offers, food festivals and indulgent epicurean excursions in a relaxed, beach environment. Culinary connoisseurs enjoy fresh seafood caught locally, providing health and taste benefits, and supporting the homegrown fishing community that has sustained in the area for 400 years.

Having celebrated its 300th anniversary in 2009, Beaufort, N.C., hosts the five-day event. The third oldest town in North Carolina was once home to Blackbeard the pirate and was the inspiration for many Nicolas Sparks novels, including A Walk to Remember. The festival allows guests to dine in local restaurants, many overlooking the water, including Beaufort Grocery, Shephard's Point, Carlton’s Fine Dining, Sharpies and Chef’s 105– pairing featured wines with coastal cuisine under the careful guidance of area chefs and regional visiting chefs.
